Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain 2026 Operation Update: Ticket & Cableway Hours Change from Feb 24 | Latest A/B/C Routes Guide

Important Update: Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area Adjusts Ticket Sales & Operating Hours Starting February 24, 2026

To improve tourists’ experience and ensure safety, Zhangjiajie Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area will implement the following changes from February 24, 2026 onward. Please plan your trip in advance and check the latest official notices.

New Ticket Sales & Operating Hours

  • Ticket sales window: 07:30 – 16:00
  • Park operations begin: From 08:00 (until all visitors have descended)

Open Tour Routes The scenic area now offers double-cableway tour packages A, B, and C. Single-cableway lines 1 and 2 remain temporarily closed. Routes A and B follow the adjusted itinerary during the suspension of the upper cableway section (mid-station to summit station).

Detailed Route Options

  1. Double-Cableway A Line Package (ideal if starting from city cableway lower station) Tianmen Mountain Cableway Lower Station → Cableway to Mid-Station → Transfer to scenic shuttle bus uphill to Tianmen Cave → Take the 7-level mountain escalator up to the summit → Explore summit attractions (glass skywalk, viewpoints, etc.) → Descend via escalator to Tianmen Cave → Fast cableway down to mountain gate → Shuttle bus back to city / cableway lower station.
  2. Double-Cableway B Line Package (enter via mountain gate, flexible descent) Mountain Gate entrance → Fast cableway up to Tianmen Cave → Escalator to summit → Sightsee summit area → Escalator back down to Tianmen Cave → Option A: Scenic shuttle downhill to mid-station → Cableway down to city lower station Option B: From Tianmen Cave Square, take fast cableway directly down to mountain gate (same as C line).
  3. Double-Cableway C Line Package (fastest & simplest round-trip) Mountain Gate entrance → Fast cableway up to Tianmen Cave → Escalator up to summit → Explore summit attractions → Escalator back to Tianmen Cave → Fast cableway down to mountain gate exit.

Important Weather Notice In case of ice/snow, dense fog, heavy rain, or other severe weather that makes the mountain road unsafe, the scenic shuttle between mid-station and Tianmen Cave will be suspended. Routes A and B will temporarily operate as C-line routing. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Travel Tips

  • Visit duration is typically 4–7 hours. Wear comfortable non-slip shoes and bring warm layers (summit can be chilly even in late February).
  • Book tickets early via official channels (WeChat mini-program, official website or authorized platforms) — especially during post-Spring Festival period.
  • Famous highlights: world’s longest mountain cableway, 999-step Heaven’s Gate Cave, thrilling glass skywalk.
